On a Path to Gold

Amantle Montsho, an Olympic hopeful who won the 400-meter track title at the World Championships in 2011, inspired a generation of female athletes in Botswana. Ahead of the 2012 London Games, Montsho prepared to become the country’s first ever Olympic medalist, in any sport. I produced  video for part of Mary Pilon’s three-part series following Montsho ahead of the Olympics. (Image: James Hill for the New York Times)
